Girl's Weekend!
Uplifting!we
Date Night! We escaped! Don't tell anyone, but we made a break for it! And what a night it was! We enjoyed dinner at the chophouse and then we went to the "Night Glow" at the Thurston Classic! It was amazing to see the hot air balloons light up at night! Shhhh-don't say anything, but we may have to make a habit of this!
Happy Birthday Granny!aw
Granny celebrated her birthday in style!~ With a new necklace made by SG himself! He hand selected the beads and strung them on in the order he thought she would most enjoy them! Cupcake helped~by trying to eat the beads! We finished the evening with an hour swinging on the porch swing and eating vanilla cupcakes. It's the simple things that remind us of the gifts we have been given. We love you, Granny!
A Year in the Making.
Can you believe it has been one year since we came home?! That's amazing! How quickly the time flies this side of the journey! All those years we waited never went as fast as this precious last year. We have had our ups and downs, and inside-0uts along the way, and every moment is worth it!
We celebrated the day at a petting zoo/animal park. The animals thought we were awesome! Well, it could be the treats we brought? Cupcake wasn't intimated at all by the very friendly animals and Supergus was the hero when we rescued my purse from a hungry goat-TWICE! She was a purse-loving kind of goat, I suppose. We even remembered to feed the "Angry Monkey". We call him that because if you stop feeding him, he throws a fit. We did not feed the tigers....even though we offered him Supergus. SG did not find that very funny.
Reflecting on the year, w know the bonds we share as a family are firmly rooted and we are very thankful for the opportunity to call each other our own. Love is what holds us together, and love will see us through each day the Lord gives us together. ~Here's to many more years together (and a few less purse eating goats!).
A Little Mini-cation
Roadtrip! Grab your walking shoes, we're headed to Gettysburg! What a great trip to learn about history! We were excited to be able to squeeze in this trip last minute! And to add to our fun, our family got a chance to drop in and visit! Supergus & Cupcake (and we) were thrilled to see their grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins!
Our adventure began in the rented cabin that turned out to be perfect! It was too cold & rainy to use the pool too often, but we enjoyed the campground a lot! We explored battlefields and the wonderful new museum/visitor center! We even had the opportunity to find Superdaddy's Great Great Grandpa's name on the Civil War memorial. It was a moving experience that made the history of it all that more personal. We did the auto-tour and climbed on the rocks at Devil's Den.
We had a great time while learning a lot too. We recommend the trip to Gettysburg anytime! Who knows where the next roadtrip will take us, but we can be assured that memories will be made!
We're Oureattta Here!
Well, it's official..... 2nd grade is behind us and Summer is finally here! It's bittersweet realizing how fast time has gone, but we're thankful for the journey we have enjoyed. As tradition holds, we kicked off Summer and kicked school to the curb by going to the local ice cream joint! No matter how cold, we've gone, but luckily this year it was toasty warm! Mc's ice cream cones are as big as the kids enthusiasm for no homework, so they were stuffed! Each year we look forward to this tradition. I think we'll have to do it more often!
Congratulations on a great year, Supergus! You did great!
We couldn't wait for school to be out to start our camping season~ So we escaped for a weekend! There must have been something in the water because Supergus and his buddy, UA, were in rare form! They had such a good time exploring the campground on bikes and scooters. They ate light-up gummy worms and made smores, too. Neither one lasted very long when we offered the "no bedtime night". All the fun must have worn them out! We had such a good time, we're packing our camper and going again very soon!
No Need to Panic!
Supergus and Cupcake have gotten their driver's licenses! Well...to drive the purplest hot wheels truck around anyway! Usually, Cupcake is the passenger, but let me tell you, she is not afraid to take the wheel! There are things in her path that are afraid, just not her!
Supergus is such a good brother (or brubber as Cupcake calls him)! He puts that protective arm around her to reassure her as they bounce along over the grassy acres. They have put 100 miles on that truck and haven't even gone a mile in either direction!
So, we can all take a deep breath and relax knowing that they will not be leaving the driveway!
