Facelift!

Weed! Dig! Weed! Shovel! Edge! Weed some more! A lot of work, but so worth it! Seeing a manicured landscape is just beautiful! Watch out weeds!
We're on to you & you are going down!

(And a very special thanks to our landscaping friends, too!)

Take Me out to the --Earth Day?

Dear Elementary School,

Please excuse Supergus's absence on Thursday, 22 April 2010.

He was participating at an Earth Day celebration in Pittsburgh. In addition to getting a hat made of recycled material and a T-shirt courtesy of Waste Management, there were many school groups in attendance celebrating “Education Day” at the facility.

He was able to use his recent Social Studies skills to compare and contrast the rural area of our community with the urbanity of Pittsburgh. He also got to practice proper flag etiquette by rendering respect during the national anthem.

Supergus was also using his Math and money skills. (If a hot dog costs $2.50 and a bottle of water costs $3.50…). For Health/Physical Education, Supergus took the opportunity to closely observe the rules and techniques of a game. There was even a chance for him to enjoy some of America’s classic music.

Thank you for excusing Supergus.

(He went to a Pittsburgh Pirates game with his dad and uncle.)

"Chothers"

They happily have "chothers!"

(When learning to talk Supergus came up with the word "chothers" for "each other.")

He is Risen!

Words can't express it... They just can't... We serve a risen Lord! A faithful and loving God that follows through with His promises. He gives the strength to complete a journey He calls you to. He is so good and as we celebrated this Easter completely together we were reminded of His Greatness!

Cupcake didn't really get the whole Easter basket idea, but she loved emptying its contents all over the floor! And alas, we finally did something else~we hid Supergus's Easter basket hard enough that he couldn't find it! Yippee! Understand, that every year prior to this we prided ourselves in thinking up a creative hiding places but he had found it on the first attempt! So there, Mr.! ~We are stepping up our game! And remember he who finds the chocolate ~eats it! So any unclaimed goodies will be returned to the Mommy! Yummy!

Peep Show!

It's definitely a sign of Spring~The local tractor store had a new supply of baby chicks, ducks, and rabbits! Watching my children discover these treasures was priceless! Their wide eyes inspecting the squirming little creatures and hesitant fingers reaching to touch the soft feathers for the first time... Of course the question was asked "Mommy, can we take one home?" "No." And guess what? All the little fluffs of Spring went home with--SOMEONE ELSE! :)

Make a Joyful Noise!

The children's youth group spent weeks learning how to worship our Lord through music! They proudly got the opportunity to present a "concert" of their songs and even got to lead worship on a Sunday morning! It's amazing how much the kids learned and to see their love for Jesus glow! They expressed their love for the Lord so openly and honestly and it was moving! I'm so proud of Supergus for singing his heart out and for having the courage to lead the congregation in prayer! What an awesome experience! Way to go, kids!

Dancing the Day Away!

Grab your dancing shoes!

We were excited to attend the Annual Silver Spoon Cafe Dance at the elementary school! The theme this year was "Summer!" (Since we had such a long winter, we were glad to think about sunny days!) The children were all decked out in their favorite clothes and showed off their ballroom dancing skills! It's an amazing skill our school teaches!
Supergus proudly wore his Cub Scout uniform!
